About me
- Speaks English, Kurdish and some Arabic
- Tour organizer and operator within Iraqi Kurdistan and Southern Iraq
- Translator for researchers, journalists, businessmen, and tourists
- Provides assistance to foreigners/expats in the region through translations and others.
My name is Karwan Wahed and I am Kurdish. I am originally from Erbil, married and blessed with three boys and one girl.
For 3 years, I have worked as a part time driver in an international school in Erbil where I learned English from expat/international teachers. I also worked with and for other expatriates from different international companies.
Currently, I work as a full-time tour operator/organizer within the Kurdistan region and Southern Iraq as well. I realized and saw the potential of working with tourists and so I decided to venture and focus on promoting tourism in the region, as an independent tour guide. I like meeting people, locals and foreigners alike. It's great to learn from their culture, language and life stories. I have learned a lot from the people I met and worked with and I hope to learn more. It is also my hope to make every traveler's journey in Kurdistan a memorable one.
One thing I learned from my clients is the importance of travel: it helps me broaden my knowledge and perspective about the world; it helps me understand other cultures; but most of all, it helps me appreciate what I have. I am so fortunate to have met and be meeting people from different parts of the world and share their most beautiful stories. I wish to travel the rest of the world someday.
*** My job is to ensure safety, comfort and enjoyment amongst my clients. These are my top priorities.
